Roleplay

I love roleplay in online forums. I’ve never tried Dungeons and Dragons and don’t plan to. Also, real-life roleplay in a DnD style sounds rather boring. And real-life is my favorite genre in roleplay.

My first roleplay experiences were on a platform called Howrse. It’s actually about breeding digital horses. Funnily enough, I don’t remember ever really liking horses — at least not more than other animals. Anyway, on that site you could create a small personal forum, and many people used to write roleplay there. I took part in Warrior Cats and how fitting horse ranch roleplay.

Later, I moved from Howrse to Facebook to write roleplay there. They were, once again, Warrior Cats roleplays. And that brings us to the first character whose photo I still actually have — the first character I truly loved more than anything. You can find more about him further below under “Ratstar.”

After that, I barely wrote any roleplay for a long time. When I started again, I joined a post-apocalyptic roleplay. It took place on WhatsApp. That’s when I created my character Cloud. Cloud was a really kind character in a totally messed-up world. Back then, he met a woman named Violet. The two of them were really cute together. Unfortunately, the roleplay didn’t last very long, but Cloud stayed in my memory.

After that came the Discord roleplay era. I created several roleplays myself and even had a loyal community that often took part in them. Unfortunately, during that time I also made many mistakes and wasn’t in the best place mentally. Because of that, my roleplays often only lasted a few months and frequently ended in arguments.

I like to remember that an acquaintance from roleplay even sent me a small package with masks during the COVID period because I didn’t have the money to buy any. Or that one time when someone quite literally saved my life.

Important Memories

I have kept some of my most valuable character sheets, and you’re welcome to read through them.

As a roleplayer, and usually an administrator, immersion was always important to me. That’s why I created many banners, collages, flyers, and similar things. Damn, I even once prepared a school-style test where players had to watch a short video about racism and then complete a test.

Crazy times, really.

Anyway, I don’t have many of the old images left on my computer anymore. But I’d still like to present the few I found here. Time to dive into memories and have a laugh about this.
